Steps in How to Make A Pencil Crossbow
Step 1:
You will require a few unsharpened pencils to make a working crossbow. All the wooden pencils should be of the same size; it will help in making a stable crossbow. Take two pencil crossbow and line them together. The rubber side of the pencils should be together. Tie both the pencils together with a rubber band; you should tie two rubber bands on both the end of the pencils. Leave an inch from the tips. Make sure that the rubbers are tied tightly; so that the pencil doesn’t roll over or break apart from each other. This way, your stock is ready.
Step 2:
Repeat step 1 by taking another two pencils. Follow the same instructions thoroughly. Your lathe is ready.
Step 3:
In this step, you will make the cross in your crossbow. Lay your stock vertically on your desk. The eraser of the pencil should be facing you. Lay the lathe on top of the stock, in such a way that the middle of the lathe is touching the top rubber band of the stock. It should look cross sign. Tie them together with a rubber band; make sure you do it tightly. The crossbow should lie flat, if not adjust accordingly.
Step 4:
The next step is constructing a shaft for your pencil crossbow. Take a ball pen and remove the cap of the pen. Also, remove the inkwell and the top hallow plastic case. You will be left with a plastic body. It will help you by shooting straight and accurately.

Lay the shaft on the stock in such a way that the shaft is resting at the rubber band, which is holding the shaft and lathe together. The other end of the shaft should reach the other rubber band that is tying the stock. Use of tap, and tighten the shaft from both of its ends.

Now you have to ass strings to your crossbow. They are responsible for launching your cross. Take a rubber band and loop it in between the pencils of your lathe from both the end. The string should rest between the two pencils of the lathe.
Step 7:
Place the strings next at the end of your stock. Take a tape and fasten the two strings together, in a way that the tips of the strings are tied together. This tape will act as a seat for your arrow.
Take a thin pencil crossbow or a piece of wood, which can work as an arrow. Slide the arrow in the shaft and keep the base of your arrow on the seat of the strings. For that, you have to pull the strings until the end of the arrow. Hold the string and arrow together tightly, and release them to shoot. Your crossbow is ready!
